Finding the information that you need

Where Can I Go to Find Skydiving Information?

When people are preparing to go skydiving, they usually want to find out as much information about it as possible. It only makes sense, we go to great lengths to do research about things that are seemingly much more safe than going skydiving.

One thing that people are surprised to find out about skydiving though, is that it’s a whole lot safer that they might expect. In fact, one of the most common expressions in the skydiving community, is that it’s a whole lot safer than walking across the parking lot of Wal-Mart.  While that probably doesn’t paint a good picture of the safety of a Wal-Mart parking lot, it does say a lot about the safety of skydiving.

Freefalling and having fun

Wahey!

For those of you that still need a bit of convincing, you can do what most people do for just about any problem – go on the internet and start looking things up using keywords like “skydiving safety” or “should I go skydiving?” to find all the skydiving information you’ll ever need.

Be cool in forums…

There’s tons of great info out there, and you can even find skydiving forums where you can sign up and ask questions, if you can’t find what you’re looking for online. Don’t make the same mistake some people make though, and sign up for the forum only to ask things that have been asked hundreds of times before. This isn’t a problem that is unique to skydiving forums, but all forums in general. People can get tired of new members signing up just to ask things that they could find the answers to if they simply use the search feature on the forum.

Don’t be afraid to go to a drop zone and check it out

If you’re not technically inclined, you can always just go down to the closest drop zone and start asking questions. The people working there should be able to answer any of the questions you might have and more. Of course, those people will be experienced with skydiving already – which isn’t a bad thing as you definitely want to hear information from someone who knows what they’re talking about.

What if you want to talk to people who have never been skydiving before about their first experience though? Well, the best thing to do is to hang out there from the early morning when most first time skydivers are going through their training period. Then, they’ll go up in the plane, jump out and once they reach the ground you can ask them all about it. Most people have so much fun on their first free fall, that they can’t wait to get up there and do it all over again.

With modern technology and our easy access to information these days, there’s no reason to not go skydiving just because you can’t find enough information about it. We love to educate people about the sport of skydiving, so if you have any questions whatsoever, you can always contact us for anything you need as well!
